Side Kick
The side kick (and any combination of) is probably the most powerful kick in Tae Kwon Do. Taught differently by all martial arts, this kick is essentially performed by loading the knee high near the solar plexus with the heel loaded back towards the Gluteus Maximus. As the foot is extended, rotate the hip with the kick. Toes should be angled downward slightly, and the heel extended. The side kick can be used either as a power kick, a push kick for self defense, or a speed kick for tournament sparring.
